Early Collaboration & License Win
urban-gro began working with this California client in 2015 to support their vision for a vertically integrated cultivation and dispensary operation. The team helped develop the client’s first cannabis license application. In 2016, the client secured the license and moved forward with their long-term growth plan. From the beginning, they aimed to grow premium, small-batch cannabis with high precision and care.
Craft Cannabis & System Innovation
urban-gro supported this vision by designing the first cultivation facility using an ebb and flow fertigation system on custom rolling benches. This setup delivered even plant nutrition and improved space use. It also supported consistent product quality. Because it worked so well, the client chose to use this system in every new cultivation facility going forward.
Scaling Cultivation Operations
Since the first success, urban-gro has designed four more cultivation facilities for the client. Each one ranges from 10,000 to 14,000 square feet. Every layout supports streamlined workflows, high-efficiency fertigation, and precise environmental control. These features ensure strong performance, steady output, and full compliance.
Retail Expansion & Phase I Delivery
urban-gro also designed the client’s first dispensary. It serves as Phase I of a 40,000-square-foot vertically integrated campus. The dispensary reflects the brand’s values and welcomes customers with an engaging, easy-to-navigate retail experience. It connects product, space, and story.
Phase II – Full Vertical Integration
Phase II will bring the back-of-house operations online. The expansion includes more cultivation space, ethanol extraction, a MIPs kitchen, curing rooms, and packaging areas. It also adds offices, vault storage, restrooms, locker rooms, and break areas. Each space supports smooth, efficient operations from start to finish.
Continued Results
urban-gro continues to grow with the client. Together, they design smart, scalable cultivation and dispensary spaces that evolve with business goals and industry changes.
