With a complex program efficiently organized on a difficult site, this 35,000 square foot building contains an exam clinic, an ambulatory surgical center, imaging suite, and ground level parking.

With its site located in the Brookstone Center, a professional office development, the client requested a design that was “commonplace traditional” – but revisited. The design team was challenged to satisfy a conservative design review board, comprised of local developers located in the park, as well as a client that sought a facility that conveyed modern medical expertise. Common materials and vernacular forms were utilized to create a dramatic entry defined by a vaulted main waiting room that serves as the hub for all activity in the building. The north-facing curtainwall entrance allows for an abundance of natural light while also welcoming patients. The main floor serves patients and contains all services. Large offices on the second floor offer beautiful views and soft light filtered through the wooded development. Due to the sloping lot, under building parking and staff amenities are anchored into the site and open out to lake views.
