This new building will be the first stand-alone library for the Georgetown community. Moving from an annex on the municipal offices to a brand new space, this design is a tremendous opportunity to redefine the library as a community asset. The new design will provide generous flexible space, meeting rooms, a unique kids’ zone, and a central desk with printing and resource hub.

The simple form of the building is cost effective while making use of large windows providing daylight and views on the wooded site. With a limited budget, the design team was rigorous in the selection of materials and building systems that would be beautiful and also cost effective.
Relocating from another space and expanding, the library system intends to re-purpose shelving and seating. The design was carefully planned to accommodate these items while integrating with new furnishings.
