The Bill and Olivia Amos Children's Hospital project focuses on relocating Pediatric Inpatient Services from the 5th floor of the Main Campus (MC) to the 5th floor of West Campus (WC), formerly known as Doctors Hospital, to establish a new children’s hospital. The new facility will feature a main entrance designed to improve accessibility, provide ample parking, and establish a distinct identity for the Pediatric Hospital.

Key Facility Improvements

  • 5th Floor Renovations: Major upgrades to create state-of-the-art patient rooms.
  • New Connectors: Two climate-controlled walkways to seamlessly connect the Main Campus and West Campus.
  • 2nd Floor Renovations: Enhanced office spaces and ancillary patient services.
  • 1st Floor Enhancements: A multi-purpose room for patients, a gift shop, and a cafeteria to improve the visitor experience.
  • Site Upgrades: A new garden and improved lighting to strengthen the connection between the Main and West Campuses.

Interior Design Concept

The design draws inspiration from Columbus, Georgia's natural environment, emphasizing its connection to the river and local wildlife. The aesthetic features a neutral color palette accented by vibrant hues, which appear in colorful vignettes and accent walls.

An interactive video installation at the main entrance adds a playful element for children, providing a welcoming and engaging experience as they move through the facility’s main functions.
